Rehearsals for a play about Maradona in Naples, with Italian actors and an Argentine director. Nothing about Maradona except anecdotes about his figure from the Neapolitans; one of the actors had come to play football. They were all 'touched' by Maradona, as is logical. Pennac is very intelligent, but he has never seen a ball in his life: his fascination comes from the public figure of Maradona, from the totem, from the stupor that invaded him when many friends confessed to having cried at his death. The spectator, Maradonian or not, has an irrepressible desire to travel to Naples and join the song that he sees towards the end of the film, which is moving and overwhelming in its beauty and simplicity. Ideal for theater lovers, or Maradona lovers, or both.

Hard to imagine, but true: According to current estimates, out of 500,000 active male football professionals worldwide, under ten (10) are openly homosexual. While homosexuality hardly plays a role in other areas of life today, the topic seems to be completely taboo in professional football. The feature-length documentary THE LAST TABOO lets those who broke exactly this taboo tell their very personal stories alongside Thomas Hitzlsperger. Like the British professional footballer Justin Fashanu (*1961 in London; † 1998 in London), who broke this taboo for the first time in 1990 and paid for it with his life. His niece Amal tells his story. Marcus Urban, on the other hand, was about to make the jump to the Bundesliga as a teenager and, by deciding to come out, he also went against his big dream. The stories of the US professional Collin Martin and the British player-coach Matt Morton, on the other hand, suggest that normality is not far away.

Deniz Aytekin has been refereeing Bundesliga matches since 2008 and international matches since 2012. In 2019, he was voted "Referee of the Year" by the DFB. Players and coaches have great respect for him. No wonder: his height of 1.97 meters and his striking facial expression alone are impressive. Above all, however, Deniz Aytekin impresses with his body language and his manner on the pitch. He simply radiates a natural authority. Deniz Aytekin is also an exciting personality off the pitch - as a successful entrepreneur and amateur DJ. He deals with the stress of everyday life with electronic music and yoga.

From the opening round of the 1996 season in Melbourne, the potential for an extraordinary year was plainly evident. In particular, the two Williams-Renault team mates were quick to display the sort of skill and determination that would keep this contest on the brink to the very end. As Damon Hill established his campaign to overcome Ferrari’s reigning World Champion Michael Schumacher, Jacques Villeneuve was proving to be not only an exciting new talent, but a serious title contender. By mid-season, Hill's lead was looking comfortable, but then a disappointing British round began a run of races that would see Villeneuve and Schumacher claw back valuable points. As the finale at Suzuka approached, the outcome of the 1996 Championship rested on just one race and fans the world over held their breath...
