Desperate to have a baby, Nasa convinces her best friend Mofe to father her child.
Nasa, a successful 31-year-old, faces a life-altering challenge when her doctor advises conceiving soon after a myomectomy. Pressured by her biological clock, she proposes an unconventional solution to her best friend Mofe: fathering her child through IVF. Their tight-knit friendship is tested as they navigate this complex journey. When IVF fails, they resort to natural conception, blurring the lines between friendship and intimacy. As Nasa finally becomes pregnant, unexpected emotions surface, threatening their bond. Caught between the joy of impending parenthood and the fear of losing their most treasured relationship, Nasa and Mofe must confront their true feelings. In West Africa, Colombine runs a dispensary in risky bushland. A strong-willed, whiskey-drinking religious woman armed with her rifle, she takes care of sick and orphaned children in the region. She sees Mélia arrive, a somewhat imprisoned Parisian MSF doctor, herself an African orphan, but who has never returned to her homeland since childhood. She discovers bush medicine, its difficulties and the dilemmas that caregivers must face in the face of chronic shortages of equipment and medicines. These two courageous but opposite women form an unlikely team. They will have to learn to overcome their barriers and confess their secrets to protect the dispensary and the children from the dangers of the region and a threat that surpasses them.

For many generations people in the Omo Valley (tribal southwest Ethiopia) believed some children are cursed and that these 'cursed' children bring disease, drought and death to the tribe. The curse is called 'mingi' and mingi children are killed. Lale Labuko, a young educated man from the Kara tribe was 15 years old when he saw a child in his village killed and also learned that he had 2 older sisters he never knew who had been killed. He decided one day he would stop this horrific practice. Filmed over a five year period we follow Lale's journey along with the people of his tribe as they attempt to change an ancient practice.
