In 2023, during the second year of full scale war, civilians in Ukraine endure constant hardships and terrorist attacks, yet rather than cower or give up hope and leave, many civilians in Ukraine tirelessly volunteer, work, collaborate, and create in support of Ukraine's people, army, animals, and future. "Sunflowers in the Rain" weaves together 10 vignettes from volunteers and civilians working across Ukraine show us the realities of civilian life in a country at war, the inspiring and the tragic moments, and the ways ordinary people have stepped up to face new challenges on their personal quests to help the country persevere.

The film’s story is based on the fate of the Floriculture Pavilion of the former Exhibition of Achievements of the People’s Economy, and its elderly employee Valentyna Voronina, who maintains this space, investing her own life into it, until suddenly changes come to her. After forty-five years of work, she is asked to retire. But Voronina does not agree with that, because she thinks that all the plants will die without her. Meanwhile, a group of mysterious radioesthesists find a channel of positive energy right in front of the entrance to the pavilion.

In 1983, film student Rich Murray was handed $20,000 in a brown paper bag by a mobster. The money was for directing his first music video for a virtually unknown Philly rocker named Alan Mann. Mann's song "Christmas on the Block" became a Philly radio staple and Murray's music video, against the odds, became the first indie video to play on MTV. This experience, tainted by Mann's tragic passing, remained with Murray through the years. With "Fear of Heights," Murray travels back to that time to answer some nagging questions and to illuminate the dark, mysterious life and music of Alan Mann.

Restorative Farms offers the ability for rehabilitation and therapeutic solutions to individuals with criminal backgrounds to come and contribute as employees to the farm. Restorative Farms was co-founded by Tyrone Day, who was falsely incarcerated for over 26 years.
