Florence Nightingale
The film portrays the life of Florence Nightingale, particularly her innovations in nursing during the Crimean War (1854–56).
Engine No. 19 is the pride of Tom's heart, but as he is unable to lot drink alone he is discharged. Feeling that he no longer can obtain employment, he leaves home, and soon starts on the downward path. He is about to enter a bar-room when the face of his mother haunts him. He puts aside the temptation and decides to return home. A bandit tries to overpower the engineer on the Limited, but is captured by Tom who creeps over the top of the car. He refuses a reward, but states that if he had his position back he would prove himself a man. He returns to his mother and sweetheart who have read of his heroism and are pleased to see him.

Margot Sperry, who keeps house for her guardian, a professor who wants to revert to primitive modes of living, finds it difficult to find food in the winter wilderness and resorts to pilfering from the Bates's winter camp. Divvy, engaged to a girl he does not love, meets Margot on one of her raids and falls in love with her. Baptiste, a half-breed employed by the Bates family, is discharged for stealing and burns the camp, driving the family to refuge with Margot. Elsie, hoping to regain Divvy's affections, dresses in boyish clothes similar to Margot's. Joining forces with Baptiste, they capture Margot, and Baptiste takes her in a canoe downstream. Realizing her mistake, Elsie warns Divvy, who bests the half-breed and then rescues Margot from the falls. A lost film.

He also tells Mrs. Smith to expect him in a few days. Salesman John wires his wife that he will be held up until the next day. Adjuster John Smith wires his wife that he will be home on the midnight express and to have lunch ready for him. The messages get crossed and many comical misunderstandings results until all is happily resolved.

Instead, Roy arrives, sees Marie with Boyd, and discovers their relationship. Later, Allan's brother, Dr. Boyd, informs Roy that Marie has been in an eastern hospital and has given birth to a baby. He shares a statement from Marie naming the father. A year later, Allan marries, having seemingly forgotten Marie.
