Eric Clapton: Life in 12 Bars
An unflinching and deeply personal journey into the life and work of guitarist Eric Clapton told through his own words and songs.
Born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1988, Lari Basilio is an autodidact guitarist. From her early childhood, Lari started showing love and interest in music then, she began studying organ at age four. Some years later, her father taught some chords on an acoustic guitar and it would lead her to a passion for the electric guitar. Later, she moved to the electric guitar and ever since she has started studying by herself. From playing in the church to playing in some bands, she started writing songs. In 2011, she started working on her instrumental five-song EP, named Lari Basilio, and so began her professional career. Lari has stood out because of her technique and versatility, innovating the instrumental music with her different style of playing. It was proved by the public when her video on YouTube for the 1st Santo Angelo’s Cultural Contest was a record in views in the best time.

This short film is made for the "Chopin-Pletnev" disc which marked Mikhail Pletnev's debut as a pianist on Deutsche Grammophon. In the film, we witness Mr. Pletnev's journey, starting from him on his way to studio, through his performance of Chopin's Etude Op. 25 No. 7 in C sharp minor "The Cello" and the process afterwards. One is struck repeatedly by Pletnev's crystalline arpeggiations, the velocity of his passage work, his singing tone, his rhythmic suppleness, and, above all, the grandeur of his sound.

Ali is son of a well-off family who plays the santoor (an Iranian instrument) and has earned some reputation through his concerts and teaching music but is rejected by his family because of this profession, which they despise. He falls for one of his music students but after a short blissful period, life doesn't treat him as well as before and also his addiction agonizes him in his numbered days before redemption.

During an International Trade Fair at Thessaloniki, a mature woman, Rena (Martha Karagianni), goes there with her sister to convince her childhood friend Dinos (Dinos Iliopoulos) to have a "white wedding" so that she can inherit a large estate. Dinos though, does not accept because even though he is actually a womanizer he acts as a shy and modest man around people. Everyone there will meet a group of musicians and one of them will fall in love with the daughter of the strict manager of the company Dinos works for who is accompanied by Dinos. At some point, everyone goes to Athens where things get more complicated untill everyone finds his perfect match. In the end Rena gets her inheritance and all together they perform a musical play in a grand theater.

Escaping from his tyrannical manager, Ferraro switches identities with a young tourist (Fritz Schulz) and goes off on an unscheduled Swiss holiday. Still travelling incognito, our hero falls in love with a winsome mountain girl (Magda Schneider). Alas, both his romance -- and his freedom -- are placed in jeopardy when it turns out that the charming young fellow with whom Ferraro traded identities was actually a notorious swindler.
