A year after Thadd and Shannon gave birth to their son, A Conversation Between Parents highlights a climactic conversation in their lives -- as both young parents grasp at the last threads of their ideal family. On an afternoon off of work, the couple sits on their couch, while their son sleeps in his crib, and the family grapples with their limited options one last time. Dietrich’s camera ties the couple’s painful conversation together with flashbacks of both parents’ precious memories of their first year with Jasper, attempting to find a way to articulate their struggles in the last conversation they have together as a couple.

Out of love for Huskies, nature and cold winters Dave and Kristen Olesen moved from Minnesota to the North West Territories in Canada 25 years ago to create their own little universe on the magnificent East arm of Great Slave Lake. With their two daughters Annika 15 and Liv 12 and their 37 dogs, the Olesens enjoy a unique lifestyle in the wide open wilderness far away from civilization. One winter they all leave their self-built homestead with ten dogs on a two and a half thousand mile family expedition allowing Annika to run the Junior Iditarod in Alaska. As unexpected obstacles all along the trip culminate in three heavily injured dogs the whole endeavor is at risk. Optimism, love and loyalty prevail on this exciting epic family voyage.

When the members of the Keystone Rainbow Curling League get together, it's not just about the game. Rainbow Ice follows four members of Manitoba's premiere LGBT2SQ+ curling league as they gear up for another season. The league, which has been around since 2005, is made up of 28 teams with players from the LGBT2SQ+ community and their allies. It's an open and inclusive place to escape Winnipeg's brutal winters and enjoy some exercise, camaraderie and sport at the 140-year-old Granite Curling Club. Rainbow Ice takes a look at the positive space that's created when the spirit of fun, friendship and freedom to be yourself are combined with a love of curling.
