A shell from the warship blows up the tree, landing Jim safely on the battleship's deck and securing his escape.

Bunter puts White out of the running, then digs up a birth certificate that proves that Polly is over 21. He forces Jonah to consent to their marriage, while White is left to the consolation of Myra.
